BRIDGE INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (BICA) is a parent co-operative center for Christian, multi-cultural, and multilingual education. This academy was established to provide an environment for 1) the promotion of Christian values and world view, 2) parents involvements in children’s education, 3) enrichment of the children’s native language and English as well. The Academy’s mission is to encourage the students and the families to be bridges between their own ethnic community and other ethnic groups in the U.S.

BICA is a non-profit organization with a 501(c) 3 status.  All gifts given to BICA will be given a tax receipt.  Donations may be mailed to  BICA 401 W Anderson Avenue, Round Rock TX 78664.

Yeonjai Rah, the founder of BICA, started a small study group called “BRIDGE” with four Korean immigrant children in the spring of 2011. She taught English language and Korean culture for 1.5 hours one day a week school. Yeonjai Rah, Sanghye Park, and Sherry Smith opened a summer camp for two weeks in the July of 2011. The teachers taught Bible, English, and Korean for seven children.   In the fall of 2011, two mothers, participating in the summer camp, joined the school as teachers; and the four mother-teachers started “Saturday School”. Classes met in homes with the mothers hosting on a rotating basis. The subject taught were Bible, English, Korean, music and arts and crafts. In the spring of 2012, theSaturday School began renting a facility owned by First Baptist Church Round Rock. This church graciously offered the space with a nominal rental fee. At this time Saturday School’s enrollment increased to twelve students and seven volunteer teachers. A second summer camp took place in the summer of 2012 with eighteen children enrolled. Bible, English, Korean, art, cooking, science, and music were part of the curriculum. On October 30, 2012, Yeonjai Rah established a non-profit organization for this program, and named it the Bridge International Christian Academy (BICA). This school year (2012-2013) BICA has added two community service activities to its program: a choir performance at local nursing homes and a fundraiser to contribute to the drilling of a water well for a village in Liberia Africa. These community service activities are designed to promote altruistic virtues in our students.
